KeySCAPE and KeyPLANTING User Permissions

Issue:
You wish to know what user permissions are required to run KeySCAPE application.

Solution:
KeySCAPE Design Studio and KeySCAPE LT Element/Pro
Requires you to be be logged in as a local administrator to install, configure and run updates. Whilst it is preferred that users are a member of the local Power Users Group, the latest version will support the standard Windows "out of the box" User account settings.

KeySCAPE DS FP and/or KeyPLANTING
All users are recommended to be a member of the standard WIndows "out of the box" local (not network) Power User Group and have full permissions to access the following areas of the machine:
    Registry Key
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\KeySCAPE Systems (folder and sub-folders)
    Folders and files
  • Program files\KeySCAPE Systems\Database folder (unless the database has been located on another or network drive)
  • Access to Control Panel and WINNT or Windows\system32\KeySCAPE.cpl file (KeySCAPE 2004 versions only)
Network Installations
  • WINNT\ or Windows\wizitok.ini file
  • Full user permissions to the shared network licence file folder
