Setting KeySCAPE to use the AutoCAD settings when running in Civil 3D 2008

KeySCAPE uses the << Unnamed Profile >> for its AutoCAD menu settings (CUI).

As the "AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008" desktop shortcut uses this for its Civil profile, when you launch KeySCAPE it loads with the Civil menu and settings, not the preferred AutoCAD ones.

The "AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008" desktop shortcut opens in AutoCAD as it uses the settings defined in the << AutoCAD >> Profile.

To set KeySCAPE to use the AutoCAD menu and settings rather than the Civil menu and settings, for each user please perform the following:
  1. From Tools > Options, make the << Unnamed Profile >> current
  2. Pick [Add to List] and name it << Civil >>
  3. Pick [Apply & Close]. Close the Options dialog.
  4. Exit AutoCAD.
  5. On the Windows desktop, right mouse click the "AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008" desktop shortcut icon
  6. From the flyout menu pick Properties
  7. In the Properties dialog, select the Shortcut tab.
  8. In the edit window, next to Target, modify the "AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008" desktop shortcut target to use the new << Civil >> profile, i.e. edit the target to /p << Civil >> rather than the default /p "<< Unnamed Profile >>" (note the space before / and after P)
  9. Apply the changes and select OK to close the dialog.
  10. Open Civil from the modified shortcut icon.
  11. AutoCAD will now open into the Civil profile just created with its default settings
  12. From Tools > Options, make the << Unnamed Profile >> current and pick [OK] to close the Tools dialog
  13. At the command line, type menuload and press Return
  14. From the list, select the Civil customization group
  15. Pick [Unload] to remove all menus from the interface
  16. Pick [Browse]. Select and open the acad.cui
  17. Pick [Load] to load the AutoCAD menus and settings. Pick [OK] to close the dialog.
  18. Exit AutoCAD
  19. Go to Start > Programs > KeySCAPE Systems > KeySCAPE Design Studio 2008 > Configure KeySCAPE 2008
  20. In the Configure KeySCAPE 2008 dialog pick [Reset to Defaults] then pick [OK]
  21. Double-click the "Run KeySCAPE 2008" to launch KeySCAPE 2008. It should now load using the AutoCAD menu and settings.

This above procedure will allow the "AutoCAD Civil 3D 2008" desktop shortcut to run Civil; the "Civil 3D as AutoCAD 2008" desktop shortcut to run as AutoCAD; and, the "Run KeySCAPE 2008" desktop shortcut to run KeySCAPE with AutoCAD settings.
