Issue:
If your KeySCAPE LT has terminated unexpectedly or failed to close correctly this can leave your menu file (.cui) in an unstable or corrupt state. The next time you open the software you get errors or an incomplete menu.
Solution:
To resolve the issue you must remove the damaged menu files and force the underlying AutoCAD to re-run the second stage installation to replace these files. This will lose any customisation you have made to the menu file or screen layout and settings. Continue, as follows:
1. Log-on as the user (The user will need to have a minimum of Power User rights to modify the registry)
2. Go to Start > Run. Type REGEDIT in the window and pick Open
3. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER (NOT HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE)
4. Navigate to the following registry key (folder):
For KeySCAPE LT 2007
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KeySCAPE Systems\KeySCAPE LT\R10\KSLT-5001:409
For KeySCAPE LT 2009
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KeySCAPE Systems\KeySCAPE LT\R12\KSLT-7001:409
For KeySCAPE LT 2010
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KeySCAPE Systems\KeySCAPE LT\R13\KSLT-8001:409
For KeySCAPE LT 2011
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KeySCAPE Systems\KeySCAPE LT\R140\KSLT-9001:409
5. With the appropriate folder selected, go to Edit (or right mouse click) and pick "Rename". Rename the key to add "old" after the key name, e.g. KSLT-5001:409old, KSLT-7001:409old, KSLT-8001:409old or KSLT-9001:409old. Press Return to accept the change. You can return to the registry editor to delete the renamed key once you have successfully completed the procedures below
6. Close the registry editor
7. Open Windows Explorer, i.e. right click on Start or My Documents and pick Explore
8. Depending on your operating system navigate to:
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settings\[current user folder]\Application Data
Windows Vista & Windows 7
C:\Users\[current user folder]\AppData\Roaming
This folder may be hidden. If so, go to 'Tools > Folder Options > View tab' and set the option to "Show Hidden Files or Folders". Pick [Apply to all folders]. Windows Vista & Windows 7 - You may notice your menu is hidden. To show, click [Organise] on the toolbar, go to Layout and select Menu Bar.
9. Below Application Data, navigate to KeySCAPE Systems. Pick on and delete (or rename) the appropriate application folder for your current KeySCAPE LT installation, e.g. KeySCAPE LT 2007, KeySCAPE LT 2009, KeySCAPE LT 2010 or KeySCAPE LT 2011.
10. From the desktop icon, run KeySCAPE LT. This will re-activate the AutoCAD second stage installation and the Configure KeySCAPE LT dialog will appear. Pick OK to complete the initialisation of KeySCAPE LT
11. Once open, customise your interface as required.
